Objectives

Operational Area & Focus group

The Holy Cross Social Service Society operates within Andhra Pradesh, India’s vibrant and diverse landscape, primarily focusing on the newly formed Parvathipuram Manyam District. Situated in the heart of North Eastern Andhra Pradesh, this district presents a unique tapestry of cultures and communities, encompassing urban and rural settings. Covering an expansive area of 3659 square kilometers, Parvathipuram Manyam District is home to a population of 972,135 individuals, including a significant proportion of Scheduled Tribes (ST). 

The district comprises 16 Revenue Mandals, 3 Towns, and 993 Villages, each contributing to its rich socio-economic fabric. Holy Cross Social Service Society directs its attention towards the marginalized and vulnerable sections of society, particularly addressing the needs of Scheduled Tribes (ST) and other disadvantaged groups. Through its various initiatives and programs, the society endeavors to uplift communities, promote education, healthcare, and sustainable livelihoods, and advocate for social justice and equality. Understanding the demographic nuances of the district, the society tailors its interventions to cater to the specific challenges and aspirations of different population segments. With a literacy rate of 50.9%, education emerges as a key focus area, aiming to empower individuals and communities with knowledge and skills for a better future.

In collaboration with local stakeholders and community leaders, Holy Cross Social Service Society strives to create a more inclusive and equitable society where every individual, regardless of their background, has the opportunity to thrive and realize their full potential. Through its holistic approach and grassroots engagement, the society contributes to the sustainable development and well-being of Parvathipuram Manyam District and its inhabitants.

Governance & Organization Structure

The Holy Cross Social Service Society, comprised of seven elected members, four women and three men, selected by the organization’s general body, actively engages in developmental initiatives and management. Quarterly meetings provide a platform for in-depth discussions on project reviews, new proposals, financial updates, and other pertinent matters. Decisions are unified through unanimous resolutions, showcasing a dedication to consensus-building.

Dedicated to transparency and disclosure, the Holy Cross Social Service Society maintains stringent standards, ensuring the utmost openness in operations. Supported by the Project Director and committed volunteers, the Board holds the highest authority, striving to exemplify credibility, responsiveness to community needs, democratic governance, transparent practices, and stakeholder accountability.
